I thought I'd take this time, to tell you about my fitness journey.
I've not always been this way. I was pretty fit when I was young playing sports, and working on my fitness. I did PE as a GCSE and played in the school rugby team.
Shortly after moving to Yorkshire, I packed it all in and gained weight. I played computers, sat on my backside, ate far to much food, and drank to much beer. I did little to no exercise.
The repercussions of that were clear, and led me to a miserable place i rarely talk about. In all honestly, i knew what I was doing, and I knew it was bad for me, but at that time in my life, being the fat funny guy was the only benefit.

I was miserable and hated looking at myself, I even avoided mirrors and photos at that point. Yet I did nothing, until one day I had enough of being called fat lad, wobbly tits, and fatty-love.
Now to begin with my diet was just a case of eating properly, cutting out the coke and takeaways during the week. I treated myself every day on a packet of quavers; those bloody quavers stopped me snacking throughout the week. I swapped coke for soda and lime, I ate porridge for breakfast instead of a fry up, and I swapped burgers at lunch for chicken salad, then finally I dropped carbs after 6pm.
Once I started dieting I joined a gym, but I didn't like it as I felt alone, I felt judged. So I started walking with friends and this got my heart rate going, and eventually I started running. For me this was fitness and I started to see the changes, eventually I got the confidence to try another gym and I loved it!
but I got complacent over the years and I gained weight again. Luckily this time I wasn't alone. My gym and my friends supported me and the weight came off. I started a real maintainable diet and focused on eating properly once again. Nothing to strict and not too loose with calories I started to feel great.

Honestly I was eating so much food I had to force it down some days. I focused on my weaknesses (prior planning) by planning all my food on Sundays, and cooking all mu lunches on Mondays for the coming week. I had a gym plan which I stuck too, but I also had social events whenever they arose.
I booked in with a PT to improve my technique and to keep me focused which was a great idea, it honestly bumped me up to the next level.
And now I am here, still training to be the best version of myself, and helping others along the way. My mental health has grown substantially since I started and whilst I have lots to learn, i hope this never changes for that growth and self development keeps me going, and makes me better for you.
